The Rutherford PBA Halloween Foot Pursuit was created by Rutherford PBA Members Scott Ahearn and Craig Capoano to raise funds for both the Rutherford PBA Local #300, as well as a local charity. Each year the PBA selects a different charity to benefit from the proceeds of the race. This year the race will benefit Rutherford High School’s Project Graduation for the class of 2020 The Rutherford PBA Halloween Foot Pursuit is a 5k run/1m walk throughout scenic Rutherford.

Rutherford PBA Local #300 is a very proud and unified organization, which was established to create a strong and healthy work environment for current and future police officers of Rutherford. PBA Local # 300 is a non-profit organization and must depend on the citizens of Rutherford for support. The PBA local #300 relies on the neighborhood’s generosity to fund community activities. Some past activities PBA local #300 has sponsored are: Little League baseball teams, Babe-Ruth teams, Safe-Night Out, Jr. Police Academy, Annual High School Senior Scholarship, bicycle awareness for children, donations to the NJ Special Olympics Torch Run/Polar Bear Plunge, and many other charitable organizations.

Project Graduation is a nationally recognized drug and alcohol free night of celebration in which Rutherford has been participating since 1997. The event is filled with fun, food, and activities for outgoing high school seniors and takes place right after graduation.
